Shroom and Gloom updates

Find the changes that matter to your run, and keep Early Access advice separate from old Demo strategies.

Playing Early Access? Start with the September 10 launch update. The 0.4.71 notes below belong to the 2025 Demo and do not establish current card costs or boss rules.

Early Access

September 10, 2026 — launch update

The launch rebalances the game and adds The Mysterious Facility, with a separate card pool, enemies and rewards. Five characters have their own starting decks and base Foresights; quests unlock advanced characters and the new path.

Runs save after a won fight or an escaped dungeon. Controller support and clearer card inspection and targeting are also part of the launch.

What to check before your next run

  • Read current costs and effects before reusing a Demo combo.
  • Choose rewards around your character and the path you are playing.
  • Reach a save point before taking a break.

2025 Demo only

July 8, 2025 — Demo 0.4.71

This archived patch changed the Gloom Worm encounter. Food and Curse cards stopped triggering Cosmic Horror’s cost increases. Inescapable put Cosmic Horror on top of the deck instead of drawing it automatically.

Why an old boss guide may disagree

A walkthrough recorded before this patch may describe a different cost penalty or draw sequence. These changes explain the old Demo; check the encounter’s current text before applying them to Early Access.

Which version am I playing?

When asking for help, include whether you are playing the Demo or Early Access and the build number shown in your game. A familiar card name does not guarantee an unchanged effect.
